This whole project from the get-go has been a total team effort. There have been people networking and connecting others publicizing, others winning World Cup finals races, others building the website and taking care of technical items and yet others out in the field taking photos of the athletes and sending them all over to us. Thank you Shinichirou Tanaka for taking such marvelous photographs of the athletes who have special messages for the people of Japan!read more
The unbelievable big game skier and Skiers Helping Japan founder, Julia Mancuso STRIKES AGAIN! This time with a FIS World Cup Finals Downhill Victory! Half of her winnings go to Skiers Helping Japan.
"I knew I had to push really hard because I wanted to win. Opportunities like this don’t come around all the time and I took advantage of it. My goal for finals was to podium in every event - so one down and three to go. I've been working through injuries and working hard for the past four years. I'm finally back on the top of the downhill podium and it feels great. The switch to Voelkl skis has been amazing. It just gives me a lot of confidence that next year is going to be even better. I worked really close with a Japanese skier the last four years. She's helped me go to the Olympics. She emailed a week ago asking to give back and help. I've pledged to give half of my winnings today and I hope other people can jump on board. Please check out our website, http://skiershelpingjapan.com/ to see how you can help.read more
